For all those foggy beach chasers – I have a treat for you today!  A super friendly family who hail from Andover but wanted to introduce their almost 1 year old son Teddy to the beach.   He loved it!   Even though we had a sort of mean beach cleaner who snapped at us about their other son, dog Tobey, Teddy loved seeing that truck graze the sand 🙂

Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester never disappoints.  For those who are looking for an amazing beach to go to – for portraits or just the day – I honestly am not sure there are any public beaches that beat this one in New England (except, yes, the water is cold!!).

I have to admit, I’m pretty proud by the percentage of my business coming from repeat clients these days.  Not just proud, but pumped – it is always pretty cool to witness my clients grow and change in different ways.

Today I am featuring another repeat client family who has grown from 3 to 4.  They also no longer live in Beacon Hill, deciding to move out of Boston to Melrose (see their session to commemorate their final summer in the city here).  This town has great schools, is close to Boston and super convenient to 93 (so if you often head up north to New Hampshire like this family does, it’s cluch) AND sits on the expansive, scenic Middlesex Fells reservation.  It seems a good fit for this active and outdoorsy bunch.

For this session mom and dad just wanted me to capture their whole gang chilling at home (listening/dancing to dad playing the guitar, playing in the backyard) and going for a morning walk to the Fells.  Just another beautiful session of a beautiful family – easy-peasy ; )

What a journey a year+ it’s been for this uber stylish, creative and laid back client family.  I started working with them back in snowy 2016 when we head into downtown Boston for their maternity session.   Just about a month later and I head to Charleston to meet newborn Gus on a snowy morning in March.  An other 6 months later and we head to Middlesex Reservoir for a rustic/woodsy/plaids galore photo session on a gorgeous fall day.  Things got a little busy around the 1 year mark for Gus – in addition to his birthday the family bought a home and moved across the city – from Charlestown into West Roxbury.  So,  here we are, a little more like a year and quarter – photographing this gang at their new home in “Westie”!  Poor Gus was in the midst of a cold and major teething pains – still was able to capture some smiles, especially when he was playing with mom and dad.  We photographed everyone in and about the home – reading, playing, snack-ing, crying, practice-walking… and some snuggles.  Despite the move and Gus getting bigger – the whole cool vibe of this family hasn’t changed a beat.  I feel honored to have been chosen to document this first year of Gus’ life and the journey into parenthood for mom and dad!

ps. How much do you want to squeeze and kiss those cheeks!  Gus totally melts my heart in so many of these photos… Plus – look at photo of him looking up from crib with doe eyes, and then at one of Tabitha looking to Andy with similarly dramatic eyes.. apple doesn’t fall far from tree!

One of the best parts of my job is that I get to witness and document families grow.  Take these guys – remember when I photographed their first son Hudson coming into the world?  Well now it’s about 2 1/2 years later, and baby brother Bond is now in the mix.  They had me back to their townhouse in the South End to capture their life with the little guy.  Of course, Hudson stole the show in my eyes!  As I tell my clients, once a second child enters the mix, the newborn session often ends up being more “family” centered – less solo portraits of the baby – more action shots and candids of the entire gang.  But also, I just have a thing for toddlers.  They are so dynamic!  That is not to say Bond isn’t a handsome newborn – no doubt about that!  He seemed like a chill little guy who nicely balanced the high energy of Hudson.

So, we started at the home – shots in the nursery, parents bedroom, downstairs playing hockey, with Grandma – and then with some cookie bribery in play head out for a stroll on what turned out to be a lovely spring day.

And on that note – have a happy Memorial Day Weekend – even though it definitely does NOT feel like spring/summer!!

So – if you didn’t know already, I am a pending auntie of TWINS!!!  Yes, my brother and sister-in-law are expecting a baby boy and girl in late June/early July.  All our family and friends were in shock when we heard the news earlier this year, and this photo session has been in the works pretty much since that day.

I don’t really have much to say – pretty confident these images speak for themselves.  Everything is present – gorgeous and stylish couple (I mean, Jessica is just like “whoa”/smoking hawt!), incredibly cool new digs in Williamsburg (shout out to Sergio Mercado Design), and a lot of love and care in preparation for the  “Painbert” twins.  Countdown is ON.  Calvin and George are probably the most pumped even if they don’t know it yet…PINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPIN
